What is Vietnam Business Visa?
A Business Visa is a short-term visa applied for foreigners first to enter Vietnam under a company’s sponsor, but without a valid work permit. The maximum stay on a business visa is 3 months.
Vietnamese business visa is categorized as DN1 and DN2 visa:
- DN1 visa – Granted to foreigners who are working for businesses and enterprises based in Vietnam
- DN2 visa – Granted to foreigners who come to Vietnam to offer services, establish a business or perform other activities under international treaties to which Vietnam is a member
Who can apply for an Business Visa?
- You are not prohibited from Vietnam entry.
- You must have a sponsor company in Vietnam (the company you will work for after entering Vietnam) that will sponsor your visa and travel. It is recommended that the company used is a real business and not a ghost company.
- Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Vietnam and have at least 2 blank pages.
- You must have a portrait photo (4*6cm, or 2*2 inch, white background, in paper or .jpg)

A valid visa is required for almost all foreigners to enter Vietnam, except for those whose nationalities are included in the Vietnam visa exemption list approved by the Vietnam Government. The Vietnam visa exemption is granted to the following:
- Citizens of Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Laos for visits of 30 days at the maximum.
- Citizens of the Philippines for visits of 21 days at the maximum.
- Citizens of Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Russia, and Finland for visits of 15 days at the maximum.
- Citizens of Brunei, Myanmar for visits of 14 days at the maximum.

- APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) Holders from Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies for visits of 60 days at the maximum.

- Citizens of Belarus for visits of 15 days at maximum until June 30, 2020
If your passport is expired, you cannot apply for your Vietnam visa. Please renew your passport before applying for a visa to Vietnam.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Vietnam.
